Playschool
Welcome to our Playschool room, children attending this room range from the ages of 2 and half to 3 years old.
In the Playschool room we introduce more structured learning opportunities. We explore their creative side through expanded arts and crafts activities, baking, playful language experiences such as songs and rhymes.
Daily Activities:
- Our daily circle time and story time provides opportunities for children to learn about the world around them and provides opportunities for children to share their own personal stories and to express their own understanding of various concepts about the world around them, this also supports language development.
- In relation to the outdoor area we have more ‘ambitious’ playground equipment for the children to explore. This encourages children to develop confidence and engage in elements of risk taking (such as jumping and climbing) that supports children’s physical development. The outdoor area also provides opportunities for turn taking and group play.
- Within this room opportunities to empower children and encourage their independence is considered important. We will work closely with parents to coordinate the toilet training which generally occurs whilst your child attends this group.
- The children in this group will generally take a nap after dinner. This is facilitated through the use of portable beds in the Toddler room under direct supervision of the carers.
